The Best Hair Product for Hot Humid Days

Living in Minnesota most of our summer days tend to be on the humid side.  As a  hairstylist I was on a mission to find that miracle product that would keep my hair looking great on those hot, humid summer days. Big Sexy Hair makes a weather proof humidity resistant spray.  This product works great to keep your style!  It's also great to spray on your updos for your special occasions. Make sure its the last product you put on before you go outside.

I can wear my hair curly and it stays all day!

2015 Senior High School Graduation Party

Hello! Welcome to my first blog! I'm sure there will be many changes along the way.

2015 High School Senior Graduation Party

When planning my sons graduation party I went straight to Pinterest for Inspiration!  Pinterest is a wonderful place to gather ideas and get information for DIY projects, free printables, and a great place to find out where to buy the items needed to make your celebration complete.  Now that they have added the secret boards you can plan your party and keep it a surprise!

My sons school colors are orange, black, and white. I decided to add the color tan. By adding the tan color I was also able to incorporate some natural elements.  I also added in some map themed decorations.  My son would love to travel in his future so I thought this would add a personal touch to his party.

I found my paper lanterns at the the Paper Lantern shop online.  I found the prices to be fair and the selection was great!

I made my outdoor curtains from drop cloths I bought from my local hardware store.  I found the drop cloths in the paint section along with the kraft masking paper that I used for the table runners. There is an amazing tutorial on Pinterest for drop cloth curtains.  I bought the clips at Walmart to hang up the curtains.  We made curtains for our garage also.  We used a grommet kit from the hardware store.   Adding grommets to the top of the curtains we can now slide the curtains open and close in our garage.

Want to make your own curtains!  This is the link I used for the great tutorial.

The tables were decorated with succulents, brown masking paper (found at our hardware store for $2.99) and jars with candles. I found the jars at the $1 store.  I bought most of the succulents from Home Depot a few weeks before the party. The plants looked to be in really good health and were only around $3.50 a plant.  I was able to split some of them up into 3 different cans.  I planted them in all different size cans.  I wrapped twine around the larger cans and added a 2"circle tag made from chalkboard card stock.  I found the card stock at hobby lobby.

At the end of my tent I set up a photo booth with a instax mini polaroid camera.  I had the guests take a picture for the grad and leave a picture in his book.  I found this really cool vintage photo book at an estate sale for $1.  My son likes vintage finds as much as I do so I added some vintage elements to his party.  You can find local estate sales in your neighborhood at estatesales.net

What's a party without a dessert table?  The map was another estate sale find I found for $4.  I used vintage soda crates to display my cupcakes.  The cake was displayed on a vintage suitcase.  I made personalized favor bags for the candy treats.  You can find similar bags in my etsy shop.

I displayed a menu outside to invite guests to come in and eat!

I designed these bags to hold nacho chips.  The guests could grab them to make nachos or to have with the individual 7 layer dip cups I made.  I followed this link on pinterest for the

I used a tool box I found at a garage sale in my area for sons card holder. It only cost me .50!  He works at our family owned Auto Body Shop so I thought this would work great!

I had guests underline a meaningful bible verse to encourage the grad on his new journey in life.  I had seen this on pinterest for a wedding and thought it would also be a great idea for a graduation party!  My son had recently went on a mission trip with our youth group at Church and described it as "life changing".  What a better way to send him out in the world with some inspiration.

We are so proud of our son and wish him the best on his new journey in life!
